Onapsis Names Cybersecurity Executive Chris Smith as Chief Revenue Officer

Boston, MADecember 11, 2018Onapsis, the global experts in SAP and Oracle application cybersecurity and compliance, has announced that Chris Smith has joined to further strengthen the executive team as Chief Revenue Officer. Smith is joining Onapsis from Anomali, where he accelerated revenue growth and led global sales and field operations. “We are very excited to have Chris as a new member of the Onapsis executive team. His experience leading global sales and marketing organizations will help us grow and expand into our target markets as well as ensure customer success,” commented Mariano Nunez, CEO and Co-founder, Onapsis Inc.

Smith brings 26 years of industry experience, with 16 years specific to cybersecurity, to Onapsis with proven success in building highly-scalable sales organizations and surpassing revenue goals both direct and with partners. His leadership roles in high-growth startups have resulted in two IPOs and two separate M&A events at ArcSight (to Hewlett-Packard) and Invincea (to Sophos).  As the first Chief Revenue Officer for Onapsis, Chris will focus on further expanding Onapsis’s brand recognition and increasing the company’s market share.

Business-critical ERP applications are becoming a primary target for attackers, malware, and now even nation-state sponsored attacks, making this a boardroom conversation at large organizations. Onapsis has helped  over 200 Fortune 1000 customers build and run their ERP cybersecurity programs, gained recognition as one of the fastest growing companies in North America by the Deloitte Fast 500 and enabled SAP’s largest system integrators to build out entire new practice areas.

“Onapsis is attacking a business-critical problem, but from a cybersecurity perspective. Fortune 1000 enterprises leverage ERP – it’s where the crown jewels reside. But ERP wasn’t designed with security in mind; driving the adversary to target these systems. It’s a security gap the size of the Atlantic Ocean. When I learned about what this platform does for the enterprise, I jumped at the opportunity to play a leading role in bringing it to the world. I’m looking forward to applying my expertise in serving customers to an already well-known organization,” commented Chris Smith, CRO of Onapsis.
