Onapsis Names Catherine Gassé as Chief People Officer to Support Rapid Employee Growth and Talent Development

Company Attributes 254% Revenue Growth to Continued Demand for Security and Compliance Solutions That Protect Mission-Critical Business Applications from the Core to the Cloud

BOSTON – December 16, 2020Onapsis, the leader in mission-critical application cybersecurity and compliance, today announced the appointment of Catherine Gassé as Chief People Officer (CPO). In her new role, Gassé is responsible for scaling the company’s people strategy and operations for sustained hyper growth while supporting and evolving the thriving, compassionate culture at Onapsis.

With nearly 20 years of human resources and recruiting experience, Gassé brings a genuine understanding of how a thriving company culture can positively impact business performance, a solid track record in hiring and retaining top talent for global organizations, and a strong philosophy behind driving company philanthropic efforts. Most recently, she served as the head of human resources for global functions at Vistaprint where she was responsible for human resources initiatives including talent acquisition, experience and engagement, compensation, performance management, and HR Operations. Previously, Gassé joined Dell Technologies as part of the Secureworks acquisition where she spent six years as the HR leader for a large global business unit directly reporting to Fortune 50 executives. At Dell, Gassé benefitted from working in a model of HR and Operational excellence which propelled her career from a development perspective and prepared her to lead and scale the people function of growing organizations.

“Onapsis is clearly well positioned for growth, and success, and it’s a very exciting time to be part of the company,” said Gassé. “But, what really drew me here was the unique opportunity to work for a company where values really matter, and to join a Founder-led executive team who lead with authenticity and truly caring. I’ve learned along the way that driving an exceptional company culture starts at the top, and it’s much easier when those cultural values are showcased by its senior leaders rather than to have to build it artificially through HR programs.  The opportunity to build on this and support our incredible growth from a people perspective is tremendous.”

Onapsis recently announced a “COVID Reset Week,” an extra week of paid time off for its almost 400 employees extending its holiday vacation to allow employees much needed downtime to spend with their families, rest and recharge for 2021.

On the heels of a $55 Series D funding round and being recognized on Deloitte’s list of the fastest growing technology companies for the fourth consecutive year, Onapsis is on a trajectory for substantial growth this year with its recent expansion to support mission-critical SaaS applications. The company will also be recruiting in North America, Europe and Latin America, which Gassé and her team will lead.

“I recognize the ongoing personal toll the pandemic has taken on all our employees and their families. Both quarantine and travel restrictions have likely made it difficult for our staff to truly utilize vacation time to enjoy with family and friends,” said Mariano Nunez, CEO and Co-Founder, Onapsis. “We’re a high-performing organization and I understand the mental health cost to operate in this reality for so long. With the addition of Catherine to our executive team to lead our people function, we want employees to feel appreciated at work, empowered with the work they’re doing, and ultimately, feel proud of the organization they’re building.”

Onapsis employees, or “Onas” as they call themselves, showcase very high engagement and company pride, with an average 60 Net Promoter Score (eNPS) this year. Gassé comments, “eNPS scores this high are hard to come by, especially in these trying times. With our team members working remotely, I’m very proud of this commitment that Onas have to our organization, and I’m looking forward to building on the Onapsis talent brand.”

Onapsis also leads a volunteer and charitable giving program called, OnaCares, which recognizes the importance of giving back to the community and the meaningful impact it brings to the lives of those less fortunate. This year, Onapsis halted giving away branded swag at company events, and instead, encouraged charitable donations and matching funds from attendees. Through this initiative, Onapsis has donated over $30,000 to charities worldwide in lieu of promotional tradeshow gimmicks. The charities OnaCares supports included UNICEF, Feeding America, Breast Cancer Research Foundation, Boys & Girls Club of America, The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, 50 Legs and many others. Onapsis also leads a program called OnaAcademy, where they team up with local Veteran Affairs offices offering internships to veterans to help them return to the workforce and draw interest in jobs within the IT and cybersecurity industries.
