Extended support to the Information Security community now available
Cambridge, MA - July 24th, 2013 Onapsis Inc., the leading provider of solutions to assess and protect ERP systems from cyber-attacks, today announces extended support to the Information Security community by showcasing a new version of Onapsis X1 and hosting a SAP Security Training at Black Hat USA. With the growing concern in the market regarding increasing cyber-threats to SAP Platforms, Onapsis continues to empower Security professionals with cutting edge education and SAP-certified products to mitigate these threats, helping them protect their organizations from espionage, sabotage and financial fraud attack is.
For the sixth consecutive year at Black Hat USA, Onapsis will be leading a two day SAP Security In-Depth Course during the conference entitled: “Cyber-threats on SAP Platforms: Assess, Exploit and Defend.” During this course, Information Security professionals will gain the knowledge to understand the critical risks affecting their SAP Platforms. With this knowledge, they will be able to interpret the risks back to their organizations and begin to take the required actions for securing their organizations’ business-critical information and processes. The training is based on the use of free, open-source tools only and SAP expertise is not required; users can take the knowledge they acquire in the training and apply it the moment they arrive back at their organizations.
Mariano Nunez and Juan-Perez Etchegoyen, with a combined 15 years of experience in SAP security, will be leading the 2 day SAP Security Training at Black Hat. “Since we first began offering this class, we continue to get requests at Onapsis for SAP security training and education at conferences and organizations around the world. For what has traditionally been an overlooked field in the security industry, we are delighted that Onapsis can offer a way for information security teams to educate their organizations about the severe risks their SAP Platforms may be facing, and how to efficiently mitigate them,” commented Mr. Nunez.
Onapsis X1 is the industry’s first comprehensive SAP-certified solution for the automated application security assessment of SAP systems. Having been certified in 2011, Onapsis continues to have a longstanding partnership and certification with SAP for the product. Backed by the frequent updates from the Onapsis Research Labs, Onapsis X1 detects insecure SAP ABAP and Java configurations, missing SAP Security Notes and patches, dangerous user authorizations, insecure interfaces between SAP systems and threats affecting SAP mobile platforms. Following Onapsis X1’s detailed mitigation procedures, customers can increase the security level of their platform, decrease business fraud risks and enforce current compliance requirements.
The new version of the product, to be released in August, will also provide support for the SAP Mobile Platform (previously the Sybase Unwired Platform), SAP NetWeaver Gateway and SAP Fiori applications. This version will be showcased at the Black Hat security conference starting on July 31st in Las Vegas, NV. Onapsis will be hosting live demos of the new version at booth # 231.
