Mariano Nunez

CEO

As CEO and Co-founder, Mariano manages the strategic direction of Onapsis. A respected authority in the business-critical application security/SAP cybersecurity field, he was the first to publicly present on cybersecurity risks affecting SAP platforms and how to mitigate them. He is frequently invited to lecture at major security conferences such as RSA, Black Hat, SANS, SAP GRC and SAP TechEd, as well as at Fortune 100 companies, security agencies and military organizations. As an industry thought-leader, he was also the developer of the first open source SAP and ERP penetration testing frameworks. Mariano has been interviewed and featured in mainstream media such as CNN, Reuters, WSJ and The New York Times and was distinguished by MIT in its list of 35 innovators under the age of 35. Mariano holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and has completed executive training programs at Harvard Business School and Stanford University Graduate School of Business.

Gerhard Eschelbeck

Former VP Security & Privacy Engineering (CISO), Google

Eschelbeck brings strong experience in transforming traditional security solutions and delivering them through the cloud, which will help Onapsis guide customers to the cloud with confidence. A proven information technology executive with strong operational and strategic experience, Eschelbeck has launched innovative and successful companies and has built high-performance multi-national teams in the U.S., Europe and Asia. Widely regarded as one of the foremost experts on network and system security, Eschelbeck was invited to present his research in information security to the U.S. Congress, and is a frequent speaker at major industry conferences. Eschelbeck is also a highly regarded author and is well-known for publishing the “Laws of Vulnerabilities.” He is one of the inventors of the Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS) and holds numerous patents in the field of managed network security. Eschelbeck previously held CTO positions at Sophos, Webroot and Qualys.

Maria Cirino

Co-founder and Managing Director, .406 Ventures

Maria has been building and founding technology businesses for over 20 years. Her operational, entrepreneurial and senior management experience in venture-backed technology companies includes two Massachusetts IPOs of the Year and the founding of two successful companies and a venture capital firm. Prior to co-founding .406 Ventures, Maria served as an SVP of VeriSign following its 2005 acquisition of Guardent, the market leading Managed Security Services provider, for $142 million. Guardent was a Sequoia, Charles River Ventures and NEA-backed IT security company that Maria co-founded and led as CEO. In this role, Maria received industry recognition as "Massachusetts CEO of the Year" and "Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year," among others. Prior to Guardent, Maria was Senior Vice President responsible for sales and marketing at Razorfish, an IT services company that acquired her previous company, i-Cube, for $1.8 billion in 1999, where Maria led sales and marketing. Prior to i-Cube, from 1993 to 1997 Maria was responsible for North American sales at Shiva, the category-creating remote access leader. Prior to Shiva, Maria held sales and marketing roles at Lotus Development Corporation and Software City Inc. Maria holds an AB in English Literature from Mount Holyoke College where she has served as a Trustee and as a member of the college's investment committee. At .406 Ventures, in addition to her investment activities, Maria manages brand building and deal flow strategy. She currently serves on the boards of other .406 portfolio companies Attend.com, AuthAir, Bit9, Kaltura, Mineral Tree, Pwnie Express, Threat Stack, Vaultive and Veracode. She is a former board member of Adtuitive, Digitalsmiths and Memento until their respective acquisitions by Etsy, TiVO and FIS.

J.R. Smith

Partner, Evolution Equity Partners

J.R. Smith is a partner at Evolution Equity Partners focused on growth stage technology investments in information security, enterprise software and consumer. Prior to joining Evolution, he was Chief Executive Officer of AVG Technologies where he was responsible for strategy and operations and leading the company to an IPO in 2012 on the New York Stock Exchange. Mr. Smith is considered to be a thought leader in the areas of security, privacy and data protection and has authored several books on these subjects. Prior to AVG he was CEO of several software companies including Telecom Solutions Group, a pan-European network deployment and telecommunications software development company he founded in 1997 whose clients included Vodafone, Nextel, Orange, T-Mobile, Telefonica, Nokia, and Ericsson. Mr. Smith began his career in Seattle, Washington with PNC, which evolved to become the publicly listed VoiceStream, later acquired by T-Mobile.

Marcos Galperin

Chairman of the Board, President, Chief Executive Officer, MercadoLibre

Marcos Galperin is Chairman of the Board, President and Chief Executive Officer of MercadoLibre Inc (NASDAQ:MELI). He is co-founder of the company and has been a Board Member since October 1999. He is also a board member of Endeavor, a non-profit organization that selects, mentors and accelerates high-impact entrepreneurs around the world. He is also a board member at the Stanford Graduate School of Business. Prior to working with the company, Mr. Galperin worked in the fixed income department of J.P. Morgan Securities Inc. in New York from June to August 1998 and at YPF S.A., an integrated oil company, in Buenos Aires, Argentina from 1994 to 1997. Mr. Galperin received an MBA from Stanford University and graduated with honors from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

David Stienes

Partner at LLR Partners

David Stienes is a Partner at LLR Partners, a growth equity firm founded in 1999 with more than $3.5 billion of capital raised across five funds. David has been with LLR for 20 years and focuses on technology and technology-enabled services investments with an emphasis on information security, business resiliency and risk management. Along with Onapsis, Mr. Stienes has led investments and serves on the on the board of the following information and cybersecurity companies: Digital Guardian, Phishlabs, BluVector, and Cigital Inc. David received a B.B.A. degree in Accounting, summa cum laude, from James Madison University. He has been Director at Onapsis since 2018.

Juan Pablo Perez-Etchegoyen

Chief Technology Officer

As CTO, JP leads the research & development team that keeps Onapsis on the cutting-edge of the Business-Critical Application Security market. He is responsible for the design, research and development of Onapsis’s innovative software solutions and helps manage the development of new products as well as the SAP cybersecurity research that has garnered critical acclaim for the Onapsis Research Labs. He is regularly invited to speak and host trainings at global industry conferences including Blackhat, HackInTheBox, Troopers, and SAP TechEd/DCODE.

Prior to joining Onapsis, Juan Pablo led many Information Security consultancy projects for companies in Latin America, EE.UU. and Europe. His strongest experience is in the fields of Penetration Testing, Web Application Testing, Vulnerabilities Research and Information Security Auditing and Standards.

Victor Hugo Montero

Chief Information Officer

As CIO and Co-founder, Victor is responsible for developing, implementing and aligning IT and infosec programs with business objectives. During his time at Onapsis, Victor has held a number of executive roles, including COO and CPO. These roles, together with his 20+ years experience in the IT and InfoSec fields, have provided him a deep knowledge of the company needs, structure and internal processes, enabling him to drive enterprise value. His vision and capabilities earned him recognition as “Emerging Entrepreneur of the Year 2012” by the Endeavor organization. Victor holds a graduate degree in organizational leadership from Stanford University and an undergraduate degree in computer science from the University of Buenos Aires. He also completed the Entrepreneurial Ventures Program at Harvard Business School.
